SweepSmart supported them to develop a new waste management operating model for the entire Badung regency, modelling 6 scenarios from small- to large-scale sorting and composting on trade-offs in economies of scale vs. logistic costs, and delivered 20 detailed designs.

An organisation that is collection waste from a river in Guatemala is looking for solutions to sort and valorise this waste. But river waste is a difficult stream to sort, as the waste is mixed and entangled with organic waste, sand and stones. In a ‘Minimum Viable Product’ sorting setup, SweepSmart is implementing an improved sorting lay-out, including testing ways to support the manual sorting with a shaking sieve.

On the remote island Ambon, we implemented an innovative new collection model based on source segregation (2000 households), community-based collection points and a compactor truck to transport the waste.
